If anyone could precisely articulate the definition of the word lunatic it would be John English of the Portland Drug Policy Examiner. John is a retired professional locksmith and member of Drug Watch International who has lots of time on his hands. With so much time on his hands he spends countless hours developing insane rants and points of views. You may ask why he is so dangerous? If his extremist views were ever enacted it would cause lots of unnecessary suffering for many people. A man such as this is a threat to society and should be monitored very closely.
Lets review some of his past writings:
“Drug testing is needed to find the users, stop their use, by getting them help. Call me a hard-liner, but what druggies need is to be locked up for a while – for many, the only way to ‘get out’ is to be forced into a program which requires them to stay away from pot for two years or more. Then, all of a sudden, they’ll see the light, their thinking will change, and they’ll be left wondering what happened “
If John had his way mandatory drug testing would be a focal point in our life. Kids would be tested daily. College students would be tested daily as well. After we clock in for work we would be asked to take a drug test. We would be tested for any kind of licensing and government services. Do you want to get married? A drug test would be required. If you wanted to start a business and apply for your EID (Employee ID Number) then you would be tested as well. What if you tested positive? Under John’s plan you would locked for a while perhaps for 2 years. Can you see why this man very dangerous? Extremist take extreme measures to achieve their goals no matter how much suffering it causes for individuals or society.
“Drugs are illegal for a reason. These people cannot see what is happening to them; it’s what the drug does to those who use.”
So John, what does smoking pot do to people? Does it make them evil and loose all their sensibilities? There are lots of responsible pot smokers out there and many of them are your friends John. Society did just fine for many centuries before 1937. That’s when marijuana was fraudulently made “illegal.” How did society they make so much progress with legal pot, John? To deny that marijuana has any medical qualities is a complete failure on your part to see the whole picture.
I don’t think anyone is suggesting that drugs (ie marijuana) should be legal for everyone, but there need to be some governmental control for distribution and taxation. The drug war has been a complete failure. Isn’t it about time we have a different approach and get the cartels out of the drug distribution business? To classify marijuana as having no medical value is a complete farce by our government. I have seen people helped by my very own eyes using marijuana. Some people live with much more dignity using medical marijuana rather than using pharmaceuticals.

Now that society is much more educated and see the lies surrounding marijuana you can see why people are so untrustworthy with our government concerning marijuana. John you need to stop defending the lies of the past.

“Marihuana leads to pacifism and communist brainwashing”
“You smoke a joint and you’re likely to kill your brother.”
“Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind.”
“But it all began three decades ago; the director of NORML, told an Emory University audience that they would be using the issue of medicinal marijuana as a “red herring” to give marijuana a good name.”
So 30 years ago someone had great insight about how to fight the governmental lies and you fault them for it? If I was going to chooose between lies and the truth I would certainly go with the truth.
